Halloween

También es conocido como Noche de Brujas o Noche de Difuntos.

Es una fiesta de origen celta que se celebra internacionalmente en la noche del 31 de octubre, sobre todo en países anglosajones como Canadá, Estados Unidos, Irlanda o Reino Unido.

Los símbolos más conocidos son las calabazas o jack-o'-lantern.

Las actividades típicas de Halloween son el famoso truco o trato (trick o treat) y las fiestas de disfraces, además de las hogueras, la visita de casas encantadas, las bromas, la lectura de historias de miedo y el visionado de películas de terror.

 A kumquat is a fruit a very small orange with sweet skin that is eaten, and sour flesh.

 Una naranjita china es una fruta muy pequeña de color naranja con la piel dulce que se come, y la carne ácida.

Los bosques secretos de Londres: Epping Forest

Mucha gente no conoce los casi 6.000 acres de bosques antiguos que se extienden justo donde acaba la ciudad de Londres por su lado este. Pero ahora que se lo hemos contado, no tiene excusa para no ir a conocerlos. El bosque de Epping es un mundo desconocido para muchos, exuberante y vibrante con los colores otoñales en esta época del año, y con numerosos senderos para recorrer el bosque a pie. También encontrará vacas que pastan tranquilamente entre los árboles, formando un paisaje que evoca el pasado agrícola de la capital británica. Cómo llegar: Existen servicios de transporte público a Epping Forest desde Londres. La estación de tren de Chingford y la Central Line del metro de Londres también están cerca.

Compositor alemán de música barroca nacido en 1685. Además de su maestría para tocar el órgano y el clavecín, también tocaba el violín y la viola de gamba. A starling is a common bird with dark shiny feathers and a noisy call.

Un estornino mide unos 20 cm de largo y tiene un plumaje de color negro iridiscente, con un brillo púrpura o verde, salpicado de blanco, sobre todo en el  invierno. Las patas son rojizas, y el pico es negro en el invierno y amarillo en el  verano. A diferencia de los adultos, las aves juveniles tienen un plumaje marrón. Es un ave ruidosa y tiene un canto variado, pero poco musical. Tiene la capacidad  de imitar los sonidos de su entorno e incluso aprenderlos. Normalmente suelen  volar en bandadas diseñando increibles dibujos en el cielo.
